Although you should always have a professional air conditioning contractor install your ductless mini-split air conditioner<\/a>, the installation process is fairly simple to do on your own. If you know how to run the electrical to your outdoor unit, setting up your new air conditioner can be done within a couple of hours.

Remember however, that the manufacturer’s warranty is only covered if the unit is installed by a licensed contractor, so we don’t recommend installing it on your own.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you feel that you can do this on your own, and don’t expect to get reimbursed by the manufacturer for any faulty parts, by all means, do it on your own. Many installers can charge upwards of $1,000 to $2,000 to for a basic installation of a ductless mini-split<\/a>.

When your room reaches the desired temperature, your air conditioners\u2019 compressor will turn off and your fan will continue to circulate the cool air. In the summer, heat your room using the heat-pump feature. But remember, if you are in a climate where the temperature can get below 40 degrees, purchase a unit that <\/span>has a back-up heat-strip so your unit won’t freeze!<\/p>\n
