It’s Getting Hot, So We’re Getting More Cool!

By the looks of the thermostat, it’s getting hot again! Although I feel it, I’m happy to report, that I’m inside my office for most of the day.

Under my brand-new 9,000 BTU SoleusAir (Thank you!) 13 SEER Energy Star ductless mini-split air conditioner, heat pump, I might add!

Since the heats a-swirlin’, we’re bringing in another truckload of Airwell-Fedders room air conditioners.  These units will be able to slide into most manufacturer’s existing wall sleeves (cans), including GE, Carrier, Friedrich, and Fedders.  Although most older air conditioners being replaced today are 220V, some models that are 110V/115V need to be replaced.  So we’re bringing in some 10,000 BTU 110V/115V air conditioners that measure 24″ wide, 14 1/2″ tall, and under 22″ deep.

If you have a sleeve that’s larger than that, not to worry, these models come with trim-kits that slide over the front to make any replacement gaps unnoticeable.

These replacement air conditioners with solid-sides and rear-vents are our most popular items since many multifamily apartments replace these on a regular basis.

Want to stay cool, but you only have a sliding or casement window in your room?  Utilize it for a vertical air conditioner:

Many people don’t know that air conditioners are made for this purpose alone!  You’d be surprised at how often we hear a customer ask if they can turn a window air conditioner on its side!

Slider/Casement air conditioners, as they’re called, work much better than a regular horizontal air conditioner for these types of windows.  If a regular horizontal air conditioner, made for a double-hung window is installed, a plywood or plexiglas feel would need to be fabricated above the air conditioner to fill the gap.

Although a bit more expensive than regular double-hung window air conditioners, some manufacturers do make them.  All vertical air conditioners measure 14½” wide by 20½” high and come in 5,000 BTUs to 15,000 BTUs  cooling only.

We currently have two 10,000 BTU models available that would cool a small living room or large upstairs bedroom off nicely.

We have almost a thousand 8,000 BTU and 10,000 BTU Goldstar air conditioners in stock!

These are hard-to-find window *or wall* air conditioners that come with a slide-out chassis for easy installation. Pricing on these units is amazing as you can see on our website. Just look for the Goldstar models WG8005R (8,000 BTU) or WG1005R (10,000 BTU) that mention the slide-out chassis in the description. You may not be aware that Goldstar is manufactured by LG (Lucky Goldstar sometimes referred to Life’s Good)!

Usually, you can find 8,000 or 10,000 BTU air conditioners for a lower price, but they do not come with a wall sleeve. If you plan to install a small air conditioner through your wall, make sure it comes with a sleeve and a slide-out chassis in case you need to service it or replace it in the future. You won’t want to break your wall to get it out!

By the way, if you’d like to install an air conditioner in a window (whether it be a double-hung window or a slider or casement window), we sell those cheaper than anyone else in the country too.
