Follow These Easy Instructions To Save Money And Get Better Performance From Your Room Air Conditioner

Since Summer is right-around-the-corner, we thought it would be a great time to remind you how to run your room air conditioner correctly.

If you are a landlord, make sure you check all the filters now and clean or replace dirty and damaged ones on a bi-weekly during the Summer and on a monthly basis throughout the rest year!  Tenants and owners, you need to do the same!

Window and wall air conditioners are not the same as central air conditioners.

To ensure you get the best performance from your air conditioner, we advise that you turn it on in the morning. Your air conditioner has an internal thermostat that will detect the temperature in the room. When the room reaches the temperature you set it to, the unit will shut off. When the room gets warmer the thermostat will detect that change and will turn on by itself.

The vent should be closed at all times and should only be open when using the fan mode to bring in outside air. Having your vent open while operating the air conditioner will make your unit work harder and it will cost you more money to run.

When turning on your air conditioner, make sure you set it to 74-78 degrees and no lower than 72. This will not only will save you money, but it will allow your air conditioner to work properly.

Again, check your filter every other week during the Summer and once a month during the other times of year for better performance.

Remember: If you turn your air conditioner on when the day’s heat is at its peak, it will take time to get the desired cooling effect, and will use much more energy.

Stay cool!

An electrical failure in the relay, the component that turns on the refrigerator’s compressor, can cause overheating and pose a serious fire hazard. Maytag has received 41 reports of refrigerator relay ignition, including 16 reports of property damage ranging from smoke damage to extensive kitchen damage.

We are asking for your help in locating sales information for consumers who purchased an affected refrigerator. Your cooperation is essential for us to reach potentially at-risk consumers.

Samsung Vivace Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump Goes Beyond Green!

Samsung Vivace AQV12VBC

In addition to the incredibly high SEER rating of 19.0, the Samsung Vivace (AQV12VBCN) air conditioner brings style, sophistication, and elegance into the interior

design of your home. It also boasts a wide array of technological features that help you and your family live a healthy life by providing clean, fresh air that’s virtually free of harmful elements!

The Vivace has features that enhance life…

-Micro Plasma Ion (MPI)
The MPI improves indoor air quality (IAQ) by eliminating biological contaminants that threaten your health such as viruses, bacteria, molds, and allergy causing agents.

-Multi-Step Air Purifying System

The Samsung Multi-Step Air Purifying removes virtually all elements that are harmful to people by using various filters. At the same time, the system also keeps the interior of the air conditioner ultra-clean, so only ultra-fresh air is produced.

-Good Sleep Mode 2

Does this sound familiar: You sleep with the air conditioner turned off and it gets too hot. You sleep with the air conditioner on, it gets too cold. How do you stay comfortable? With Samsung’s Good Sleep II, the room temperature automatically adjusts to your body temperature so you remain comfortable during your sleep. It can even save you up to 36% in energy costs.

-Smart Inverter
Save, save, and save with Samsung’s Smart Inverter. When reducing energy costs with an air conditioner, an inverter is a must. Samsung’s S-Inverter technology lower energy consumption by up to 50% compared to a conventional air conditioner. Its powerful and delicate features allow you to reach the desired temperature so there’s less fluctuation and less motor

run-time, which translates to a quieter system and less wasted energy.

-Waterfall Heating Air Flow
The new Samsung air conditioners feature a wide-angle vane system. In conventional models, the indoor unit’s vane could only open up to 70 degrees, which made it difficult to direct heated air to the lower spaces of a

room. The wide-angle vane system can open the vanes to an angle of 90 degrees. You can control airflow direction vertically and horizontally, providing even distribution of air to anywhere in the room.

-Auto Changeover
The Auto Changeover option automatically selects the operating mode (cooling or heating) according to the temperature setting. Thus, when a temperature is selected in the auto mode, the air conditioner heats and cools as required maintaining the set temperature.

-Energy-Efficient and Quiet Fan

-Improved Low Temperature Operation

-Outdoor Installation Pipe

-1-Touch Hanger Plate

-Easy To Handle For Transporting or Handling

-Water Leakage Double Protection

March, 2009 Price Increases

After many discussions with manufacturers, vendors, reps, and personnel, the time has come to implement a small price increase to all white goods appliance products we sell.

Due to extraordinary material cost increases, all appliance manufacturers implemented several price increases during the past two years.

Feder’s Distributors has successfully remained the low-price leader and has shown few, if any price increases during this time (and during our 42 year history). However, due to our current challenging economic times, we have decided to pass a portion of these cost increases on to you, our customers.

Although the majority of all of the manufacturers’ increases occurred during the past two years, Feder’s Distributors purchased enough product to last us through the end of February. Unfortunately, that supply has been depleted and the new costs will take effect on March 2.

Our customers will not notice a major price increase in our every day, basic apartment-grade items. However, items that offer added benefits will incur approximately 5-15% increases.

But to be clear, Feder’s Distributors still strives to be the low-price leader (among many other positive attributes), and will ALWAYS match any advertised price. But, please pay attention to the bottom-line: we always have the items in stock, and if you need it delivered, we get it to you within one business day, for less than anyone else!

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we’ll be sure to address them for you. Call us anytime during our normal business hours, email us day or night, or Twitter @mhfeder, and I’ll get right back to you.

Thank you so much for your loyalty!
